Qi Xi, also known as the Double Seventh Festival or Chinese Valentine’s Day, is a cherished traditional festival celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. It’s rooted in the romantic legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl — star-crossed lovers separated by the Milky Way. Once a year, on this special night, a bridge of magpies forms across the sky to reunite them, symbolising love’s resilience against all odds.

Inspired by Gustav Kilmt's "The Kiss" the illustration is a celebration of everlasting love against all odds with an added Chinese twist.
